Rockefeller University Administrative Assistant (Salary Range: $65K-$80K) in New York, New York
Job Title Administrative Assistant (Salary Range: $65K-$80K)
Laboratory / Department Mucosal Immunology
Our lab is interested in understanding how the immune system is able to respond to pathogens without jeopardizing its tolerance to innocuous substances, a critical balance that allows us to fend off infectious disease without inflicting damage on our own tissues. We are particularly interested in examining the workings of this process in the intestine, where it is complicated by persistent exposure to a wide variety of antigens from food as well as a flourishing ecosystem of both helpful and harmful bacteria. This work has the potential to further our understanding of autoimmune conditions such as allergies and asthma, and also to suggest new ways in which immune cells could be harnessed to neutralize pathogenic viruses and bacteria.
We seek an independent, talented and motivated individual to serve as the Administrative Assistant for the Laboratory of Mucosal Immunology, led by Daniel Mucida. Responsibilities include management of lab budget, generation of monthly spending reports, assistance with grant applications and the timely handling of relevant correspondence and documents. Additionally, this position requires coordination of calendars and meeting schedules and organization of travel/itineraries for the head of the lab as well as student and postdoctoral lab members. The Administrative Assistant will also help with onboarding new hires and annual reappointments for current lab members (required documentation for visa applications, appointment letters, etc.) The targeted salary is $65,000 to $80,000.
Bachelor's degree is required. Must have at least two years of prior office experience. Must possess excellent writing, organization and communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
This job requires that employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. Rockefeller University provides reasonable accommodations where legally required including accommodations for medical conditions and sincerely held religious beliefs.
