Job Title Research Assistant
Laboratory / Department Social Evolution and Behavior
The Research Assistant will participate in different ongoing projects to generate mutant and transgenic lines in ants. Will be responsible for ant colony maintenance, egg incubation, and larval rearing, along with molecular construct design and cloning, microinjections, and genotyping. Will also perform automated behavioral observations and ant brain imaging.
Bachelor's degree in science required; educational emphasis in molecular biology or neuroscience preferred. Must be highly motivated, driven by scientific curiosity, and possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have experience maintaining laboratory organisms. A strong interest in insects, ants in particular, is necessary.
