Job Title Research Assistant
Laboratory / Department Bacterial Pathogenesis and Immunology
Our lab focuses on understanding the earliest events by which gram-positive bacteria, particularly streptococci and staphylococci, interact with the human mucous membrane surface, the site where most infections begin.
The Research Assistant will contribute to projects involving pathogenic bacteria, such as S. aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and E. coli. Will be responsible for maintaining tissue cultures, reviving frozen cells, growing mammalian cells for expression of engineered antibodies, and purifying antibodies.
Bachelor's degree in science required. Must have experience with ELISA assays, protein purification techniques, tissue culture and bacterial growth and maintenance, column chromatography, and microscopy.
