Job Title Research Assistant
Laboratory / Department Structural Biophysics and Mechanobiology
The Research Assistant will be responsible for experimental procedures related to culturing and imaging mammalian cells with fluorescence microscopy, preparation of samples for cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and subsequent cryo-EM data collection. Will also be responsible for experimental procedures related to molecular biology and protein purification for biophysical analysis.
Bachelor's degree in science required; educational emphasis in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology or related field preferred. Prior experience with cell culture, fluorescence imaging of mammalian cells, or protein biochemistry and structural biology would be advantageous. Experience with computational imaging analysis and computer science is desired but not required. Must be detail-oriented, have a strong sense of responsibility and be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary.
