Organization Overview

The Rockefeller University Press publishes three biomedical research journals: The Journal of Cell Biology, The Journal of Experimental Medicine, and The Journal of General Physiology. We are committed to identifying and publishing the highest quality research. All editorial decisions are made in conjunction with active academic scientists, and peer-review operations and pre-press production functions are carried out at the RUP offices.

Overview

The Scientific Editor will contribute equally to two of the 3 hybrid transformative journals published by Rockefeller University Press.

Responsibilities

  • Commissioning of reviews

  • Representation of the journals at scientific meetings

  • Analysis of the content published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine (JEM) and the Journal of General Physiology (JGP)

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree required

  • Educational emphasis in the subject areas covered by JEM and JGP preferred

  • Editorial experience, especially in commissioning and editing review content is strongly preferred

  • A strong interest in scientific publishing and publication ethics, excellent critical thinking skills, and superb attention to detail is a must

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and organizational skills required

  • Must be able to work successfully independently and in a diverse global team

  • This position will require traveling to conferences and visiting research institutions when travel resumes

Compensation Range: Min

USD $74,000.00/Yr.

Compensation Range: Max

USD $85,000.00/Yr.
